System Requirements & Recommendations for the BRS Tax Preparer

System Requirements

The minimum requirements are:

• Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP
• Intel Pentium 3 (or generic equivalent)
• 128 MB RAM
• 10 MB of free hard drive space
• A monitor capable of screen resolution of 800x600 or greater.

System Recommendations

For the best performance we recommend the following:

• Microsoft Windows XP or higher
• Intel Pentium 4 or higher (or generic equivalent)
• 512 MB RAM
• 50 MB of free hard drive space
• A monitor capable of screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater
• Internet connection (for updates and form installations)

Note: The program requires either of Microsoft's Windows 2000 or Windows XP.  It will not run on any other operating system including Microsoft's Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME.  (See below for details on Microsoft's Windows Vista.)

Note: The current Beta version of the program has a few issues when running on the the new Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.  We are working on these issues and plan to have them resolved by the first release of the product.  In the mean time we advise that the program is used on either Microsoft's Windows XP or Windows 2000.

Note: Although you are not required to have an internet connection to use the BRS Tax Preparer program it is recommended.
